This research was a non-experimental study, with correlational cross-sectional descriptive design. The objective was to determine the level of job satisfaction of employees who work in the food service of the Universidad de Los Andes, Merida (La Liria, Los Chorros). The population in the study was formed by the professional, technical and operating personal for a total of 131. Data were collected through a structured, encoded and validated instrument consisting of a section of descriptive data and another of perception of the workplace, taking into account the position of work, interaction with colleagues, infrastructure, resources and motivation. Data were registered in the program excel and analysed by one way analysis of variance and Tukey test the minimum statistical difference. The staff presented a moderate level of job satisfaction located on the scale 3, highlighting the relationship between the level of satisfaction and various motivational and extrinsic factors.
