摘要
Leadership is enthralling shared phenomenon that transpires in organisations regardless of business focus. It is multifaceted and equally diverse in organisations. Hence dissimilarity amongst leaders rests as foundation of incongruity in theoretical and practice of leadership. In this controversy, employees as followers are rarely afforded opportunities to share their perceptions of the effect of leadership on their job satisfaction; especially in the twenty first century world of work. This study set out to determine perceptions of employees regarding the impact of leadership on job satisfaction; using sample of 80 employees of a bank division. Statistical analysis results indicate there are significant relationships between transformational, transactional and laissez-faire leadership with job satisfaction dimensions. Findings suggest that to enhance job satisfaction it is imperative that leadership reflects an ideal or preferred leadership approach for employees. Implications of the findings are discussed and recommendations for future research are delineated.
