Controller design for voltage-source converter using LQG/LTR

This paper presents a Linear-Quadratic-Gaussian with Loop-Transfer-Recovery (LQG/LTR) controller for a three-phase voltage source converter (VSC) system acting as a rectifier. The actual model of VSC has nonlinear dynamics with multiple inputs and multiple outputs (MIMO). Furthermore, the systems dynamics is always affected by noise and disturbance. Moreover, due to the nonlinear behavior of the VSC, any proposed controller must show robustness against modeling uncertainties. The presented approach employs control theories so that the resulted linear controller shows robustness to the nonlinearities and measurement noise. The effectiveness of the proposed work is numerically verified.
