Application of protein ZmVps 29 in regulation and control of characters and yield of plant grains

The invention discloses application of protein ZmVps 29 in regulation and control of characters and yield of plant grains. The protein ZmVps 29 has an amino acid sequence as shown in sequence 2 of a sequence table. The characters of the grains are grain lengths, and/or grain widths, and/or grain lengths/grain widths. Experiments prove that ZmVps 29 transgene arabidopsis thaliana is obtained by carrying out ZmVps 29 gene overexpression on wild type arabidopsis thaliana; compared with the wild type arabidopsis thaliana, the grain lengths and the grain lengths/grain widths of the ZmVps 29 transgene arabidopsis thaliana are increased. Experiments further prove that by carrying out ZmVps 29 gene overexpression on Huangzao 4 or Zheng 58, the 10 grain widths can be obviously reduced, the 10 grain lengths/10 grain widths are increased, the average truss production is increased, and grains become long and thin. Therefore, the protein ZmVps 29 has important theoretical significance and practical value in the aspect of culturing plants which have grains with good characters and/or are high in yield.
