摘要
In this study, pure Ti rods were fabricated by hot extrusion of vacuum sintered-powder compacts first, and then the extruded rods were further processed by rotary swaging. The effects of annealing temperature on the microstructure, texture, and mechanical properties of the as-rotary swaged Ti were studied using tensile test, electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that the as-swaged Ti rods have high yield strength (930 MPa) but its ductility is relatively low (4%). The annealing significantly helps increase the uniform elongation of as-swaged Ti, with only slightly decrease in its yield strength. A desirable combination of high yield strength (596 MPa) and remarkable uniform elongation (20.4%) is obtained for the samples annealed at 500 °C, and this is mainly attributed to fully recrystallized microstructure and high-density texture along the ⟨011‾0⟩and ⟨1‾21‾0⟩ directions.
