Fast Calculation of Landing Footprints Under the Constraint of Given Height Profile

The quick calculation of the landing footprints is an important basis for determining the maneuverability of the glide vehicle and designing a feasible reentry trajectory. Compared with the calculation of the traditional landing footprints, this problem has two typical characteristics: the reference control variable profile that is not required to design in advance and the height profile constraint are added. The increase of the height profile constraint will inevitably lead to a reduction in the coverage of the vehicle, but the removal of the reference control profile constraint will make the vehicle\u0027s maneuverability more improved than the traditional one by fixed angle of attack (AOA) profile. In order to solve the problem of quickly calculating the landing footprints under a given height profile constraint, the paper constructs a mapping model between the height profile constraint and the threedimensional (3D) acceleration profile, and proposes a 3D profile design method based on lateral priority design. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by numerical simulation, and the calculation results of the corresponding landing footprints are given.
