摘要
Abstract This investigation focuses on metallurgical parametric evaluation in photochemical machining (PCM) of Co-Cr L605 alloy for enhancing the surface-quality of bioimplants. The parameters of metallurgical viz., local grain misorientation, grain size, hardness, and residual stresses were studied. The functional performances such as surface roughness (Ra) and etch rate, were studied. The effect of metallurgical parameters was evaluated in relation to PCM process parameters. The results show that the tensile residual stresses, lower grain size, high local grain misorientation, and high hardness susceptible to poor surface quality whereas compressive residual stresses, high grain size, low local grain misorientation, and low hardness exhibit better surface quality. The overall results were correlated with biofunctional aspects
