摘要
In recent years, Chichen-Itza's archaeological site importance has increased exponentially. It receives more visitors every year. This has generated huge amounts of data only for the box office. In the current study, an exploratory data analysis is implemented on this dataset which covers from December 2016 to December 2018. From the results, it was observed that 73% of the visitors to the site are non-Mexicans. Meanwhile, 14.4% of the box office tickets are for national adults, divided between tickets sold during weekdays and tickets given on Sundays which are free for all nationals. The remaining 12.6% corresponds to tickets divided onto 11 different categories according to the current federal law. Different visitoŕs behaviours were observed such as arrival times, season arrivals, and arrival time span. The results will allow for identifying strengths, weakness of the activities as well as possible threats. The insights obtained from this current exploratory data analysis will contribute to the development of competitiveness, and regional growth via decision and strategy making.
