The purpose of this study is to determine the essentials of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and TRIZmethodology in product development. The research presents a step-by-step approach in the application ofLSS-TRIZ methodology in the design and development of biodegradable drapes for dental colleges. Theresearch adopts the TRIZ approach to provide a solution for the problems associated with the treatmentprocess in dental colleges under the LSS umbrella. A Mixture Design of Experiments and basic statistics areused to draw inferences. The MINITAB Statistical software is used to interpret the results. During the study,it is observed that LSS-TRIZ leads to innovative solutions in a spiraling phase and ensures sustainabledevelopment of the product. The study assists in unearthing critical success factors of the LSS-TRIZapproach to ensure improved productivity and performance of the system. The systematic approach adoptedby the research will help academicians and practitioners to delve deeper in to the field. More research in thisarea will strengthen the fusion of new methodologies and provide more insight for the sustainabledevelopment of industries.
