摘要
Sandwich busbar assembly consisting of copper conductor and tin as the neutral are subjected to numerical analysis to determine the thermal performance. Two different classes of insulation, i.e., class B made of aluminium and class F made of galvanized iron are used for this investigation. Both the busbar systems are supplied with rated current of 2000 A. The variation in heat transfer coefficient and temperature distribution is compared with the busbar assembly having the two different insulation. The highest heat transfer coefficient of 9.3 W/m(2)K was noted in the busbar assembly having F class insulation. Comparatively, the F class insulation had indicated low temperature region in the exposed surfaces than the B class busbar assembly. It is concluded that the F class insulation outperformed the Bclass insulation in terms of heat transfer coefficient and temperature fluctuation along its components. (c) 2020 Elsevier Ltd.
