Enhancing Field-Based Science Inquiry Activities with Technologies and Digital Resources for Costal Science Education

摘要
Field-based science inquiry activities have a particularly important role in coastal science education which often become a missing piece of STEM courses in urban schools due to constraints of resources and time. This paper reports the model that integrates Web technology and digital resources into field-based coastal science inquiry experiences in a systematic manner. As a result, more students in urban schools can experience authentic and meaningful science inquiry activities. To utilize technologies efficiently, a modular approach is proposed along with a layered organization of the activities.
