Fast Transient Disturbance Analysis on ECVT under High-Voltage Switch Operation

To investigate the very fast transient disturbance caused by the high-voltage switch operation in power system, a test platform and circuit method is proposed to analyze the effect on Electronic Capacitor Voltage Transformer (ECVT). Firstly, an experimental platform is built to investigate the disturbance on ECVT under the switch operation, and then the calculation method is proposed on the main charge-discharge loop, all breakdown points of high-voltage switch are obtained by comparison between the variation curve of breakdown voltage and the voltage difference at source/load sides, the changing breakdown voltage is got by the gap distance in switch on/off operation. Furthermore, the equivalent circuit of switch operation is created in SPICE by connecting a piecewise linear source. Finally, the breakdown waveform of VFTO(very fast transient overvoltage) and transient current is obtained by the circuit simulation, its effect on ECVT is discussed.
