Adapting the IT2017 Curricula for Two Year Transfer Programs - Determining the Optimal Level of Curricular Guidance.

Effective coordination between IT Transfer programs at two-year colleges and four-year transfer institutions is desirable to minimize repetition of content coverage and to allow two-year programs to properly prepare their students for transfer while having them achieve some of the IT2017 competencies. Curriculum guidance for two-year IT Transfer programs needs to accommodate a variety of local requirements while also giving two-year programs the flexibility to effectively collaborate with their four-year transfer partners. The CCECC and its IT Transfer Task Force (ITTTF) are creating Information Technology Transfer Curricula 2019 guidance (IT Transfer) for two-year transfer programs, and their work would benefit from further IT community input on the classification of essential and supplemental competencies, and on the impact of the guidance document's degree of flexibility on the IT discipline as a whole.
