摘要
•Infants and toddlers with Down syndrome have significantly less 24 h sleep than typically developing controls, which could be explained by sleep disordered breathing.•In this study, snoring was associated with more night waking but not with less 24 h sleep.•Parents of children with Down syndrome were more likely to stay with their child until they settled to sleep.•Parental presence was associated with later bedtimes, more night waking and an hour's less sleep across 24 h.•Behavioral insomnia should always be considered in children with developmental disorders as it is amendable to treatment.
