摘要
The paper proposes and analyzes an entropy generation model of heat transfer and flow in a grate cooler based on convective heat transfer. Entropy generation caused by limited temperature difference and pressure drop are simultaneously regarded as objectives. Employing the genetic algorithm solves the multi-objective optimization model. Cooling air distribution of the grate cooler is fixed and clinker layer thickness on three grate plates are considered as design variables. Optimal thicknesses of the clinker layer are selected from the Pareto front based on minimum energy consumption of cooling fans. Optimal thicknesses of the three plates measure 0.75m, 0.5m, and 0.84m, whereas energy consumption of cooling fans decreases by 19.58% compared with the operating scheme. (C) 2019 The Authors.
