摘要
Currently, elementary school students are proficient at understanding the features of shapes, such as points, lines, area, and definition, but they are not proficient in spatial abilities such as pushing, flipping, and rotating. A reason for this is that individual students’ experiences of direct manipulation of a shape or participation in such activities are limited to lessons in a generally classroomcentered environment. In this study, we investigated a method that combines diverse, fun elements of a game with characteristics of mathematics, i.e., integration of concepts and logical understanding. Specifically, Serious games for teaching three-dimensional shapes were developed and utilized in classes at elementary school in order to test their effect on the learning of three-dimensional shapes.
