A Fault-Tolerant Two-Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive with Field-Oriented Control Scheme

T305 paper presents an investigation of inverter fault-tolerant operation for two-permanent magnet synchronous motor (TPMSM) field oriented control (FOC) system under various inverter faults. To enable the drive system to operate continuously in different fault condition, the topology-modified inverter with fault-tolerant capability for TPMSM FOC system is proposed. The topologies of reconfiguration are then analyzed and a novel FOC algorithm with zero state and modulation using 60° shift-phase is proposed for obtaining stable and disturbance-free drive system. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed fault-tolerant TPMSM FOC drive system is able to operate stably and continuously with good performance.
