摘要
Experimental investigation for comparison of wear resistance and frictional rate between glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) composite (neat and doped) with different concentration of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) has been carried out. Three specimens of neat GFRP, 0.5 and 1 wt. % of MWCNTs in resins, were prepared. These specimens were tested on a wear tester pin on disc; made by DUCOM, Bangalore (INDIA). The experiments were conducted on a constant load condition i.e. 5 Kg. in dry condition at three different sliding speeds of 1 m/s, 3 m/s and 5 m/s keeping the track diameter of 100 mm. The wear and frictional behavior of proposed samples are compared on the basis of wear (micrometer), the frictional force (N) and FESEM analysis. Results of experimental investigation justified that MWCNT doping influences the wear and frictional behavior in FRPs. (c) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
