Transient Intake Pressure Control Of Turbocharged Gdi Engine

In this paper, a comprehensive control method is proposed for intake pressure control of a turbocharged gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine. A throttle flow model based feed-forward and active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) algorithm is designed for the intake pressure control of the throttle, and the map with observer modification based feed-forward and active disturbance rejection feedback control algorithm is designed for the boost pressure control of the turbocharger. Besides, an optimal fuel consumption strategy is used to realize the smooth switching of the two pressure control loops, and reduce the cross-coupling effects between throttle and turbocharger. This proposed solution is compared with the traditional map plus PID control algorithm and the results show significant improvements in response speed, tracking accuracy, and simplicity in parameters tuning.
