摘要
muscle mass, percentage body fat) were evaluated before the intervention and at three and six months during the exercise program. Results: The subjects exercised for a mean of 3.0± 1.3 times per week, including the home exercises. At three months, the body weights (57.4± 11.0 kg to 56.8± 10.9 kg, pu003c 0.05), fat mass (18.7± 6.9 kg to 17.9± 6.9 kg, pu003c 0.05) and %Fat values (32.2± 7.6% to 31.0± 7.9%, pu003c 0.05) had significantly decreased. Following the completion of the sixmonth program, the CAVI values also significantly decreased (8.45± 0.94 to 8.20± 0.87, pu003c 0.05), whereas the muscle mass significantly increased (36.5± 7.3 kg to 37.1± 7.1 kg, pu003c 0.05). Conclusion(s): These results suggest that performing Tai chiYuttari-exercises approximately three times aweek for six months results in improvements in arterial stiffness in elderly people, which may have beneficial effects in preventing arteriosclerotic diseases. Implications: The current Tai chi Yuttari-exercise based intervention program for elderly subjects was useful for preventing lifestyle-related diseases, such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease.
