摘要
In recent years, Government of India has taken several initiatives to make India digitally strong. One of the key initiative in this direction is introduction of online electronic signature service commonly referred to as eSign. In a populous country like India, maintaining acceptable performance of eSign is challenging. For everye Sign request, a subscriber needs to authenticate itself and make either one (in case of biometric based authentication) or two (in case of OTP (One Time Password) based authentication) service calls to an external agency Unique Identi?cation Authority of India (UIDAI). Manual entry of OTP and physical scan of biometric are slow and error-prone process. Moreover, in many cases, most of the signatures happen when deadline is coming to an end which puts sudden load on UIDAI services. These limitations need to be addressed for the wide acceptability of eSign. This paper proposes a mechanism to improve amortized performance of eSign using token based access control. The proposed model presents two possible use case scenerios, first without caching eKYC information and second with caching eKYC information. The analysis indicates a substantial reduction in number of UIDAI service requests and total time taken by eSign.
