Vehicular networks facilitate information exchange between ECUs and many sensors available in the car. In order to exchange information between nodes that "speak" different protocols, the automotive gateway impersonates the common connection point inside the network. It is a translator between the network's protocols and can perform built-in functions. Nevertheless, as the gateway is a sensitive equipment in the network and in its environment, its development flow must conform to functional safety standards, e.g. ISO 26262, so that the final architecture is reliable and dependable, characteristics of extreme importance when lives are involved. To avoid manual generation of connectivity checkers, this work proposes a new method for the automated generation of connectivity checkers from the high-level prototype, meaning earlier availability for the RTL development. We evaluated the methodology with three applications to show its efficiency and the advantages offered to both the development and the verification flows.
