摘要
The rapid development of mobile information technology opens the doors for a variety of ubiquitous services to grow. This paper describes ongoing research aims to explore the use of mobile technology to facilitate note-taking activity in undergraduate field trip. The paper discusses the outcomes of a comparison study of capturing experience by using mobile devices. It presents the results of two qualitative studies aimed to discover the usage of mobile devices to capture and share the undergraduate experience in the field trip. The studies have been conducted with two undergraduate cohorts participating in different field trip settings: six undergraduate students from the Geography School from the University of Nottingham attended a one-day field trip in a rural setting; and six undergraduate students from the Architecture School from Salford University went to an urban setting. Because there are two case studies from diverse disciplines, the study discovers similarities and differences in a number of subjects between the geography and architecture students such as organisation, transformation, privacy, and data sharing.
