Generalized energy consumption in energy saving dispatch

Security, economy and energy saving are significant aspects during power system operation. To save the energy, many areas novel energy saving dispaching ways are implemented, which brings about the changes in power flows, operation costs of generation units and network losses. In in existing dispathcing ways the ordering of generation units are in accordance with their actual coal consumptions so that the total energy consumtion of each generation unit cannot be reflected, for this reason, a concept of generalized energy consumption under energy saving dispatching is proposed. The conversion method of generalized coal consumption is researched, including the conversion of network loss to coal consumption by use of the principle of complex power allocation and the conversion of unit starting-up cost to coal consumption, and the influence of the generalized coal consumption, that substitutes traditional coal consumption, on the ordering of units in energy saving dispatching is analyzed. At last, the reasonableness and effectiveness of the proposed conversion method for generalized energy consumption are verified by calculation results of IEEE 30-bus system and that of Southern Hebei power grid.
