Effect of surface processing and temperature on piezomagnetic properties of Fe-based amorphous strips

The effect of surface processing and temperature on piezomagnetic properties of Fe73.5Cu1Nb3 Si13.5B9 amorphous strips were studied at the frequency range from 0Hz to 1MHz by 4284A impedance analyzer. The results show that the impedance of amorphous strips increase with frequency increasing, and the amorphous strips are very sensitive when stresses change from 0-0.2 MPa. The piezomagnetic sensitivity of those strips covered with silicon rubber and covered with EVA film are higher than that of those strips of free Surface when stresses are more than 0.1 MPa. Especially those strips covered with silicon rubber have the best piezomagnetic properties. Sensitivity of piezomagnetic properties increase with temperature increasing, especially in the range of 30-40°C. When temperature being 40°C and stress being in the range of 0.2-1.0 MPa, slope of |ΔZ|-Stress curve that surface of amorphous strip was covered with silicon rubber, is up to 0.0506. When stresses being more than 0.2 MPa, piezomagnetic properties of amorphous strips are very steady.
