Diversité des profils cliniques des familles des enfants présentant des problèmes de comportement en milieu scolaire

This article aims to identify different family profiles among children who present with behavioural problems and receive specialized educational services for them during elementary school (N = 324). The profiles were determined using cluster analysis. The choice of variables included in the analysis (socioeconomic, parental, and relational characteristics) was based on the general model for children's maladjustment found in Toupin, Pauzé, and Déry (2000). Also included in the analysis was the occurrence of edu- cational lag in children and whether their disturbances were externalized or internalized. The resulting classification made it possible to identify four distinct categories of family, presenting with different levels of difficulty. Our findings suggest the adoption of inter- ventions differentiated according to kind of family.
