To reduce the chattering of sliding mode control and improve the position tracking performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) servo system, a fuzzy sliding mode control (FSMC) method is presented. In this paper, effective estimation of the switch gain is carried out through fuzzy reasoning according to the reaching condition of sliding mode. The effect of parameters change and disturbance of load is eliminated through the switch gain. The simulation results indicate that the method in this paper has strong robust to parameter change and load disturbance. In addition, it also effectively reduces the chattering and improves the tracking precision of the PMSM servo system.
