Hans Van Leeuwen

J. (Hans) van Leeuwen is an R&D entrepreneur based on his patented fungal cultivation and byproduct development on low-value coproducts from biofuels production' and water reclamation. He is also producing highly purified vodka with his proprietary process. He became an emeritus professor of the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, Iowa State University in 2017. Former interests include development of useful substances from water treatment wastes, ships' ballast water disinfestation, industrial and agricultural applications of ozonation, ultrasonication to aid byproduct development, and oil production from lignocellulosic wastes.
