A three-dimensional numerical model for evaluation of eddy current effects on electromagnetic forces of HTS electrodynamic suspension system

摘要
•The highlights of the paper are as follows.•The paper establishes a 3-D HTS ElectroDynamic Suspension (EDS) system model. The FEM model can deal with realistic EDS scenarios and eddy current in complicated vessel and shielding structures, which is greatly helpful for the design of entire superconducting magnet for HTS EDS systems.•The electromagnetic interaction forces between the ground null-flux coils and HTS magnets mechanism are studied.•Through this model, we found that after adding the vessels and the radiation shield outside the HTS magnets, the electromagnetic drag force of the HTS EDS system increases the most, followed by the guidance force and the levitation force.
