摘要
A novel shell-and-tube heat exchanger with twisted fluid flow on the shell side is presented. To evaluate the performance, the characteristics of twisted flow and fully developed regions of fluid flow and heat transfer are analyzed numerically and experimentally. The overall structure numerical model of the heat exchanger has been established. A laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) experiment was carried out to measure the velocity at different positions on the shell side, which verifies the accuracy of the numerical method and results. The characteristics of average velocity, pressure drop and dimensionless temperature were analyzed under different conditions. The results show that the characteristics change periodically in the shell side, and the fully developed regions lie between the second baffle and the penultimate baffle, and the fully developed regions is independent of the fluid flow rate. This method and results provide reference for structural optimization and development of the novel structure of shell-and-tube heat exchanger.
