摘要
The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) in the United Arab Emirates is at the forefront of advancing space technologies and research. As part of their commitment to promoting space research locally, SAASST is launching the Sharjah-Sat-2, a 6U Cube Satellite equipped with an advanced hyperspectral camera. This cutting-edge nanosatellite primarily aims to provide high-resolution observations to support sustainable urban development projects in Sharjah. By integrating space assets and harnessing the power of hyperspectral imaging, the satellite will monitor environmental changes, track infrastructure developments, and facilitate urban planning. Additionally, the data obtained will enable precise land use mapping, strategic planning, pollution monitoring, environmental studies, oil spill detection, and air quality observations. This initiative will significantly benefit local government entities, such as the town planning and survey department and the municipality department, by enhancing resource management and facilitating effective urban development strategies.
