Analysis of the Effectiveness of Stability Indices for Various Stability Modes in New Power Systems

With increased renewable energy integration, determining system stability and dominant modes becomes crucial due to heightened uncertainty and complex dynamics. The uncertainty of system parameters, structure, and dynamic characteristics poses challenges for traditional model-based discrimination methods to effectively operate. With the emergence of numerous response-driven indices, this paper makes a horizontal comparison of the application scenarios and application effects of the existing common stability discrimination indices, and analyzes the tendencies of the dominant stability mode discrimination indicators in different scenarios. Also, linking some simulation results with theoretical analysis provides a feasible direction for further in-depth research.
