摘要
The use of Meyer’s lines of osteosynthesis dictates the ideal method of open reduction and fixation for condylar fractures. However it is not feasible to achieve fixation along these lines in many clinical scenarios. This case series (3 cases) highlights the efficacy of fixation along the posterior border of the condyle as an alternative method. This technique demonstrated optimal fixation stability in the post-operative period as favorable clinical outcomes. A comparative finite element analysis (Meyer's line of osteosynthesis v/s posterior border osteosynthesis) corroborated the clinical findings. Posterior border osteosynthesis was found to be an effective alternative to Meyer’s line of osteosynthesis for subcondylar fractures.
