Design and investigation on circularly polarized tunable two port silicon ceramic-graphene based hybrid filtenna in THz frequency regime

This communication discusses and examines a dual port filtering hybrid (Silicon-graphene) based antenna. The main appearances of the designed THz radiator are: (i) a modified circular patch created 𝐇𝐄𝐌_11^𝐱 and 𝐇𝐄𝐌_11^𝐲 inside silicon ceramic, which in turn created a circularly polarized wave from 2.59 to 2.89 THz (axial ratio ≤3 dB); (b) a defected ground structure (DGS) along with patch creates band pass filtering features (5.0 dBi within the operating band and −15 dBi outside the operating band) within the operating band; and (c) coating of graphene material over the ceramic adds the re-configurability feature in proposed radiator. The designed radiator works effectively in between 2.49 and 3.29 THz (|S11|≤ −10 dB) with more than 25 dB isolation (due to orthogonal orientation). Due to the aforementioned features, the designed radiator is employable for different wireless THz applications.
