Geographic Information Systems in Statistics

In the era of digital transformation and swift technological advancements, novel methods and solutions emerge, facilitating the resolution of digital transformation challenges in statistics through the utilization of geographical information systems. This paper focuses on digital transformation challenges in statistics field specifically for Statistical office of Montenegro. Spatial data in statistics now have the ability, allowing graphic to be displayed through geographic information systems, using OpenStreetMap as background. Such data can be collected for the field of statistics through digital surveys that contain unlimited number of data that can be stored and processed. Activities that will be implemented through this statistical research are collecting data through the application, sending data and coordinates to web service, display of data on the map in the form of geodata and tracking of interviewers.
