摘要
Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) have emerged as viable solutions for meeting the growing need in mobile networks for low-latency, high-bandwidth, and efficient data processing. MEC puts processing and storage capabilities much nearer to the networks edge, enabling mobile users to utilize low-latency and high- bandwidth services. Whereas, Network function virtualization (NFV) allowing them to be put on general-purpose servers rather than dedicated hardware. However, due to the constant change of the environment and the different needs of mobile users, the management and efficient operation of virtualized services in MEC networks offers major hurdles. This literature review is intended to provide a complete overview of MEC and NFV research and progress. It then examines MEC's integration with NFV, highlighting the synergies and advantages it offers. Benefits of this integration include improved resource utilization, enhanced scalability, and flexibility in program configuration. Issues related to the deployment and management of MEC and NFV such as resource allocation, security and power consumption are also discussed.
