Today, the term reproductive biotechnology essentially covers reproductive medicine procedures, including instrumental insemination (AI), oestrus synchronization, superovulation, in vitro production of embryos, embryo transfer, cryopreservation of gametes and embryos and somatic nuclear transfer, sometimes followed by molecular biological investigations, for example in the context of genomic selection.
