Analysis of factors affecting the selection of BESS capacity for electrical power system at Thuan Hung factory

Consumers in Vietnam have long been entirely dependent on the main power system in areas reached by the national grid. Power outages result in a complete halt of operational activities for businesses due to the lack of backup sources. The integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in electrical power systems has gained prominence as an effective solution for optimizing energy management and incorporating renewable energy sources. This paper focuses on analyzing the factors that influence the selection of BESS capacity to minimize the cost and enhance the reliability of electricity supply for the industrial sector, specifically considering the requirements of Thuan Hung factory. By considering factors such as the generation capability of renewable energy, electric purchase price, the capital cost of BESS, and outage frequency, this study provides insights into determining the optimal BESS capacity for Thuan Hung factory's electrical power system.
