Peripheral experiences in the city of Guarulhos (Brazil) during the pandemic of COVID-19: urban space, vulnerable territories, and controversies

The paper presents and discusses the results in a peripheral area of Guarulhos of the research "Inequalities and vulnerabilities in the COVID-19 epidemic: monitoring, analysis and recommendations", carried out by Unifesp from April until December of 2020. We discuss the specificities of two peripheral territories in Guarulhos, both situated in the Pimentas' neighborhood, focusing on the discussion on inequalities, social classes and experiences and knowledge of the inhabitants of urban peripheries. We also compare these specificities to the analytical axes constituted for all the research territories, which sought to address the inequalities experienced in the face of the pandemic.
