The effect of laser shock peening on the rotating bending fatigue resistance of S51740 stainless steel

摘要
This paper focuses on the effect of laser shock peening on the rotational bending fatigue life of S51740 stainless steel round bar specimens. The improvement of material properties by laser shock peening is investigated by combining simulation calculations and experiments. The main results are as follows: Finite element simulations yielded three sets of laser process parameters for the study (LPS-1, LSP-2, LSP-3). The fatigue test results show that laser impact strengthening can effectively improve the fatigue life of the material, and compared with the unenhanced specimens, 350
