Simulation for Power Characteristics of Vibration Dampers Based on Mathematical Model

The vibration damper represents the most extensively utilized and efficacious active measure for vibration control in current practice, boasting a track record spanning several decades of application both in China and abroad. It has proven markedly effective in diminishing or entirely eradicating the detrimental impacts associated with the vibrations in transmission conductors. This device is capable of substantially reducing the maximum double amplitude of conductor vibrations to a mere fraction, often to as little as one-tenth or less. The anti-vibration performance of the vibration damper is closely related to its power characteristics. In this article, the forces acting on the vibration damper clamp were analyzed, and the differential equation for the free vibrations in the vibration damper is derived. The mathematical model for power characteristics of vibration dampers were proposed, and the accuracy of the model was verified by comparing to the experimental results.
