摘要
Microgels containing palladium nanoparticles have garnered significant attention in recent times. Most of the researchers have prepared Pd nanoparticles within polymeric network to obtain hybrid microgels. The resulting microgel and hybrid microgel particles show swelling/deswelling properties with variations in environmental conditions like temperature and pH of the medium. The literature has documented microgels loaded with Pd nanoparticles exhibiting diverse morphologies. PdNPs loaded microgel systems have been proven very valuable in the catalysis of organic transformations, including CC coupling, hydrogenation, and reduction reactions. This review provides a critical overview of the recent developments in the classification, synthesis, characterization, and diverse applications of PdNPs loaded hybrid microgels in catalysis. Roles of the morphology of the hybrid system, chemical structure of the support, and location of PdNPs in the polymeric network in catalysis have been emphasized in this report. It provides an in-depth view of catalysis by Pd-hybrid microgels and guidelines for the future possible projects of potential interests.
