Single-Channel DBF Based on Single-Sideband Time-Modulated Phased Beam Scanning

This paper proposed a phased beam scanning technology based on a single-sideband time-modulated array (TMA), which could achieve digital beamforming (DBF) using a single channel, and conducted simulation verification at the end of the paper. By setting different opening times to obtain different beam orientations, and combining amplitude and phase information from different directions with a beam characteristic matrix (BCM) for aperture recovery. Finally, direction of arrival (DOA) estimation and DBF were implemented. Multiple simulation results showed that the single-channel system designed in this paper had a simple structure and high precision, which could effectively compensate for the shortcomings of existing technologies.
