Wave Attenuation Measurement for the Transmission Feature of Coal and Rock at Millimeter-wave Band

Millimeter-wave is widely applied in communications, radio astronomy and other microwave techniques for its board range of spectrum. In this paper, we set up a measuring system to investigate the transmission characteristic between coal and associated mineral-gangue at four different frequency bands (2-7 GHz, 28-36 GHz, 130-140 GHz and 280-300 GHz). Results indicate the transmission feature between coal and gangue at low measuring frequency is more sensitive than higher ones, which would be helpful for the identified technique of coal and gangue during mining.
