PEMFC System Modeling and Control of Oxygen Excess Ratio in Air Supply Systems

To enhance the net output power of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell, it is necessary to ensure that the cathode of the stack has an appropriate air flow supply. First, a state space model of the third-order PEMFC air supply system including air compressor speed, supply pipeline pressure and stack cathode total pressure was built. Then, CSA and ANFIS were introduced on the basis of PID control, and a method was proposed. CSA has improved the PID and ANFIS cascade control methods so that when the fuel cell load current changes, by adjusting the air compressor's output flow rate, the proton exchange membrane fuel cell can track and maintain the optimal oxygen ratio. The simulation results demonstrate that implementing CSA to enhance the PID and ANFIS cascade controllers leads to improvements., the average adjustment time is shortened by 51.49 % and 66.32 % respectively compared with the CSA improved PID controller and PID controller. The error integral criterion is used to verify that the cascade control has Excellent control effect.
