Evaluating the Impact of the Demand Response Program on the Economic Operation of Energy Hubs in terms of Electricity and Heat Demand

Multi-carrier microgrids with high renewable energy sources (RES) penetration have recently been modeled and enhanced to meet various needs, such as heat and electricity, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This research focuses on energy management in the demand sector for the benefit of consumers. This approach is based on demand response algorithms for electric load on the side of system consumers. This work has been executed by transferring the load from high-demand periods to low-demand periods. A mixed integer linear programming problem is coded using a CPLEX solver to decrease daily operating costs while maximizing profit to energy consumers. The results have been reviewed and analyzed in a 24-hour period. According to the results obtained in the optimal mode with energy hub management on the electric load side, the operating costs of the system have been reduced by 4.66% compared to the normal mode of the network, which shows the effectiveness of this method.
