Multiple waves of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreaks have affected numerous countries worldwide. The first case of SARS-CoV-2 reinfection was reported in Hong Kong in August 2020[1], leading to increased interest in the effectiveness of natural immunity acquired from primary infection.
