摘要
Chorda tympani schwannomas are rare benign tumors of the facial nerve in the middle ear. A 76 -year -old man presented with progressive bilateral hearing loss, nonpulsatile tinnitus, and aural fullness. Initially, based on clinical examination and radiological imaging, a glomus tympanicum was suspected, but surgical resection and histopathological analysis subsequently confirmed chorda tympani schwannoma. This report highlights the challenges in preoperative diagnosis of middle ear tumors and the importance of surgical resection and histopathological analysis for their effective management.
