A case of human T-lymphotropic virus-1 (HTLV-1)-associated lichenoid dermatitis.

We present a case of human T-lymphotropic virus-1 (HTLV-1)-associated lichenoid dermatitis (HALD). This initially presented as a severe and diffuse, erosive, scaly dermatitis, and evolved over months/years to a reticulated dyspigmented eruption, with involvement of the skin, hair, nails, and mucosae. HALD is a rarely reported phenomenon that has diverse dermatological manifestations; we highlight this case due the severity of the cutaneous features and to add to the existing literature on HALD
