摘要
Meso- to macro -tidal beaches are extensively distributed around the world. Water level determines the location where wave action can reach. Tide induced water level changes are the main component of total water level during typhoon landfall, which determines the extent and degree of beach erosion. Considering the tidal level wave height variation process in physical model experiments is crucial for the evaluation of beach erosion. This study presents the results of a new set of beach profile evolution process which considers the combined effects of tide and storm waves. Compared with the mean tidal level situation, tide induced water level variations significantly changes the erosion pattern of profile. The maximum erosion magnitude decreases by about 60% and the horizontal range increases by about 25%.
